Welcome to the 10th Edition of the Festival sur le Niger

Cultural Diversity and National Unity

Poster Festival sur le Niger 2014

This year, we are celebrating the 10th  edition of the Festival sur le Niger. A festive moment that offers, once again, a rich and varied programming. After periods of uncertainty caused by the multifaceted crises that we have experienced, the time has come now for appeasement and the gradual return of peace and social cohesion. This is why we put this special edition under the banner of the promotion of Cultural Diversity and National Unity. In this approach, the renowned artists of the continent mix with and supervise young artists from Mali and Africa during residencies, workshops and master classes around unifying themes.

The City of Balanzan will vibrate to the rhythm of Art through the Workshop, Masters Classes and Exhibitions; music; the production of ideas through the Symposium of Ségou and Professional Artistic Meetings (RAP). During one week, Ségou will become the artistic and cultural capital of Mali and the West Africa sub-region.

For this purpose, we thank the authorities of the Ségou region and the Malian State for their continued support. Our thanks also go to the artists, men of culture, intellectuals and all those who directly or indirectly contribute to make this 10th  edition, an unforgettable edition and full of excitement.

Finally, we especially thank all our partners who have kindly agreed to accompany us for the success of this event.

Together, let’s celebrate peace, cultural diversity and social cohesion in Mali and in Africa!

Thank you!

Mamou Daffé,

Director of the Festival sur le Niger
