The International Fair of Ségou was created in order to give the opportunity to local organizations and local producers (Gardeners , craftsmen, farmers, fishermen, traders, etc.) to benefit from the large national and international audience drained by the Festival sur le Niger, to sell their products and to create partnerships.
A Trans-Saharan Sahel project for peace, solidarity and tolerance initiated by three festivals, the Festival au Désert (Timbuktu, Mali), the Taragalte Festival (M’Hamid Elghizlane, Morocco) and the Festival sur le Niger (Ségou, Mali).

Music - Visual Arts - Manual
During the festival you can attend initiation workshops in dyeing techniques bogolan and traditional modeling techniques. Please register to the sales office at the Motel Savane. The Bogolan workshop is led by bogolan specialists from the Ndomo centre of Ségou. The traditional modeling workshop is led by women potters of Kalabougou.
A Music Workshop
A music workshop will be held from February 2 to 5, 2014 in the village of Festival sur le Niger , on the sidelines of the 10th edition of the Festival sur le Niger . This workshop is part of the Kôrè-Quality Program of the Kôrè Cultural Centre. This program’s objective is primarily to establish a policy qualitative development of art to qualitatively increase the capacity building activities of artists and cultural actors.
For the development of music, Kôrè Cultural Center encourages innovative musicians with their own identity, but who inspires from musical traditions, those which integrate contemporary or modern tools and techniques to traditional, social art, in order to change songs and traditional styles to contemporary and ensure international competitiveness of this new form of creation.
This workshop will be an opportunity to promote the exchange between young talent and big names from the world of music. Participants in this workshop are: Mariam Koné, Ben Zabo , the Kôrè Orchestra, Sahel Blues and Pawari. Bands that have been selected for the Kôrè-Quality program.
Young talent will be supervised by Alassane Babylas Insa Ndiaye (Music Workshops Commissioner of IKAM) , Maestro Cheick Tidiane Seck and resource persons from the world of music and Showbiz .
Visual art workshops
The famous sculptor Siriki Ky - Commissioners of visual arts workshops of the Kôrè Institute (IKAM) - will animate a visual arts workshop, along with other great names of art: Abdoulaye Konaté, Soly Cissé, Kofi Setordji and Amahiguéré Dolo. The workshop will be held from 3 to 7 February 2014 in the village of Festival sur le Niger, is part of the Kôrè-Quality Program of the Kôrè Cultural center.
A quality program which aims among other things to strengthen the capacity of young artists. Particularly, it will increase exchanges between selected artists under the program and models and references of art. They have a unique opportunity to work with their elders and learn from their model. It eventually seeks to encourage the qualitative development of the art.
